Top 2004 Goal: Fulfilling Our Vision
|
|
|
|
Family Resource Center has launched a campaign aimed at increasing program dollars to 18 health, housing and human services agencies that provide essential services to 48,000 people (and their families) each year
from the Center.
Family Resource Center's "Fulfilling our Vision" campaign will counteract many devastating cutbacks and ongoing financial pressures experienced by the independent agencies operating from our unique nonprofit hub.(See a listing of King County cuts here...) The poor economy has impacted all nonprofits by causing an increased need for
services during a time of dramatic decreases in funding. Many agencies have received devastating cuts over the last several years, forcing layoffs and curtailment of services. The need for stable funding is real.
The potential for irreplaceable losses is significant.
Our project works this way. By completing the payoff on the nonprofit Center's mortgage, our campaign will put an additional $154,000 to work at 18 agencies each year for the next 15 years.
For our largest agency, Hopelink, the benefit will amount to approximately $40,000 each year; for Community Health Centers of King County, more than $38,000 will be gained. In total, the $1.7 million campaign
will redirect $2.8 million from interest and principal payments to funding for transitional housing, emergency food and heat, programs for at-risk youth, medical and dental care and much more. The campaign provides
a positive, sustainable answer to limited funding and strongly supports the East King County region’s human services delivery system.

- In order to enhance nonprofit advocacy and education, FRC is the fiscal and administrative sponsor of Eastside Human Services Alliance.

We Develop a Campus Community and Improve a Unique Community Asset
|
- FRC works to ensure that tenants at FRC provide direct services that add to or complement services delivered on campus and that benefit the Eastside communities that FRC serves.
- The Family Resource Center Association meets to provide a forum for sharing information and joint planning.
- FRC conducts the planning, implementation and fundraising to maintain and improve the campus, such as undertaking ADA upgrades and signage programs.
