A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH) is a cooperative effort undertaken by seven Eastside cities and King
County, and is dedicated to increasing the supply of affordable housing in East King County.
|
|
|
|
ARCH provides technical assistance to organizations interested in providing affordable housing.
|
|
|
ARCH's Citizen Advisory Board provides community outreach, including a slide show and brochure on housing issues and
needs presented to community groups.
|
|
|
|
Since1993, through its Housing
Trust Fund, ARCH has helped 6 cities to distribute over $3 million, creating over 100 affordable housing units.
|
|
|
ARCH maintains a list of
individuals and families interested in affordable rental and ownership housing units created through the efforts of its members. As units become available, eligible households are notified.
|
|
|
|
ARCH assists member jurisdictions (Bellevue, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Woodinville, Bothell, Kirkland, Redmond, & King
County) with Housing Planning activities. For example, ARCH has assisted five jurisdictions to change local codes to allow "mother-in-law" apartments
in single family homes.
