A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH)  is a cooperative effort undertaken by seven Eastside cities and King County, and is  dedicated to increasing the supply of affordable housing in East King County.

ARCH provides technical  assistance to organizations interested in providing affordable housing.

ARCH's Citizen Advisory Board  provides community outreach, including a slide show and brochure on housing issues and needs presented to community groups.

Since1993, through its Housing Trust Fund, ARCH has helped 6 cities to distribute over $3 million, creating over 100  affordable housing units.

ARCH maintains a list of individuals and families interested in affordable rental and ownership housing units  created through the efforts of its members. As units become available, eligible households are notified.

ARCH assists member jurisdictions  (Bellevue, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Woodinville, Bothell, Kirkland, Redmond, & King  County) with Housing Planning activities. For example, ARCH has assisted five  jurisdictions to change local codes to allow "mother-in-law" apartments in  single family homes.
