Top 2003 Goal:
Fulfilling Our Vision

Family Resource Center is working on a fundraising effort to lower the overhead  costs at the 18 health, housing and human services agencies on the Family Resource Center campus.  The "Fulfilling Our Vision" campaign will enable the Center to pay off its mortgage and thereby significantly reduce the costs agencies pay monthly, putting those dollars to use instead for much-needed services. Cost reductions are especially critical right now in light of devastating cuts to health and human services underway from King County and the additional blows expected from the Washington State budget.  Learn more....

Help Us Protect Human Services
Please partner with us to ensure that  people seeking help will find the services they need. Consider a gift this year to support 18 agencies helping 35,000 Eastsiders each year, half of them children. (Please note: one gift will help support services for years to come.)

  • Click here to donate on-line or mail your check to Family Resource Center, 16225 NE 87th, Suite A-4, Redmond, WA  98052.  Every dollar will be doubled thanks to a generous 1:1 match from The Paul G. Allen Charitable Foundation (up to $150,000).
A gift of any size will show your support and assist the campaign.
  • Bring a group to tour (call 425-869-6699).
  • Ask us how you can assist our efforts (call 425-869-6699).

Thank you for your leadership!

2003 Goals and Activities

We Build the Capacity of Agencies to Serve

  • Family Resource Center is conducting a $1.7 million capital campaign to pay off its mortgage and thereby lower the overhead costs of FRCA agencies.
  • FRC is designing tools to improve community access to services and increase campus-cross referrals. Monthly "Meet Your Neighbor" socials are one low-key strategy.  Another is designing and printing a matrix of services.
  • FRC offers nonprofit administration classes on campus to provide very low cost and highly convenient education.  Past courses have included a volunteer management seminar series, a software training partnership with Eddie Bauer, Spanish language courses in partnership with Cascadia College and more.  Five classes on fundraising, information and referral and more will be offered in 2003.

We Reach Out to the Community

  • FRC will host the sixth annual Eastside Volunteer Fair on April 29 to increase FRC visibility and to increase agency volunteers during National Volunteer Week.  Nonprofits from around the Eastside join with campus agencies to provide a "one-stop" opportunity for the community to learn about volunteer opportunities.
  • FRC develops marketing tools that increase awareness of available services such as a web page, brochure, newsletter, press releases and other promotional tools.
  • In order to enhance nonprofit advocacy and education, FRC is the fiscal and administrative sponsor of Eastside Human Services Alliance, which is currently housed in the FRC campus administrative offices. (FRC is also sponsor of Redmond Youth Partnership.)

We Develop a Campus Community and Improve a Unique Community Asset

  • FRC works to ensure that tenants at FRC provide direct services that add to or complement services delivered on campus and that benefit the Eastside communities that FRC serves.
  • The Family Resource Center Association meets to provide a forum for sharing information and joint planning.
  • FRC conducts the planning, implementation and fundraising to maintain and improve the campus, such as undertaking ADA upgrades and signage programs.
