What is a Family Resource Center Association member?
Each nonprofit agency with offices on the Family Resource Center
campus is a member of the Family Resource Center Association. All on-site agencies are members of the Association and have agreed to work together to increase access to services and to develop a collaborative community service hub. Association members meet monthly to set goals, share information and get to know one another and the community better.
Can other agencies participate?
Off-campus organizations are welcome to visit and to work collaboratively with the Family Resource Center Association on common goals. The
Association typically invites human services organizations to participate as partners in its major events and programs.
How do agencies become members of the Family Resource Center Association?
The Family Resource Center Board of Directors periodically evaluates what types of services are
needed on site to best meet the wide array of community service needs on the Eastside. When space becomes available, certain agencies may be courted to draw a particular type of service to the campus. More commonly, an
agency is interested in leasing available space and that interest is evaluated based on the Board’s criteria, including the agency’s interest in working collaboratively with others. The Board of Directors
approves the entrance of each new Family Resource Center Association member.
What are some FRCA activities?
FRCA members meet monthly to share service information and develop tactics to make best use of the unique campus of nonprofits. Periodically members form committees to
develop joint marketing activities, volunteer recruitment projects and educational programming to benefit campus agencies and other Eastside nonprofits. A software training partnership, for example, was developed with Eddie
Bauer after FRCA members prioritized this as a training need. Ongoing volunteer management courses have also been developed through FRCA interest and joint planning. In addition, Family Resource Center hosts social events
and special trainings to build the FRCA community and keeps the campus community informed through newsletters and electronic mail.
